Phil Roberts was born in Newark, New Jersey having come to age in nearby Irvington during the turbulent late 60’s and 70's, found his fathers old Harmony arch top hidden away somewhere in a closet. Something very powerful just clicked, and even though the old Harmony got lost along the way, the guitar had since become a foundational cornerstone element in his life. That undeniable, inherent charm & mystery is still alive and well and he wants to share it with young and older alike.

 

Robert's formal classical guitar education took place at Kean University studying the masters Sor, Tarrega, Giuliani and Carcassi in addition to jazz master private workshops with Harry Leahy and the late, great jazz guitar icon, Tal Farlow.
